A unique opportunity for a final resting place in historic Mt. Hope Cemetery. The New Scottish Burial Plot is located in Section 3, Lot 212 at the corner of Evergreen and Forest Streets. It was purchased on behalf of the Rochester Scottish Society in 1888 by John Stewart, with funds provided by Angus MacDonald.
In 2014, due to the diligent research of former board member Elsie Cleary, the Scottish Heritage Society assumed trusteeship of the New Scottish Burial Plot.
If you are a first, second, or third generation Scot and a resident of Upstate New York, for a very modest application fee, you may be eligible to apply for one of the few remaining grave sites in the plot — a savings of several thousand dollars.
